AoT reports a strong September month, with double digit growth for most of its airports. Aircraft movements were up 16.9% in its six airports.

Phuket International airport reports a steady improvement. International movements were 26.7% and Domestic by 8.21% for the month of September.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport, the main gateway, reported a slight increase in aircraft movement. International aircraft movements with 14.4% and the domestic movement with 4.47%.

The significant growth for Phuket would need drastic improvements for the coming years. As Alan Zeman (Owner Andara Resort Phuket) stated in his presentation, the arrival and departure of destination need to go smoothly, as it is the first and last impression of a destination. Custom terminals couldn’t for years not handle the large numbers of arrivals sufficiently, which would be the first step of improvements needed.
